Oh hey, welcome back to Elder Coxson's weekly email, where nothing ever makes sense.
This week we had transfers, and I'll be in the ASL branch for a third transfer. I'm still companions with Elder B, but I am also comps with Elder S now in a trio. We are still serving as the social media leaders of the mission.
This week has been good for the work. We are teaching a few new people around San Diego, and we're crossing our fingers we will get to meet with them this week. Gosh darn work schedules, I can't believe people actually have lives very cringe smh.
On Friday we had our Facebook live stream. We have spent the last few weeks figuring out the technical aspects of doing an outdoor stream like this, and had some fancy parts ordered from Amazon. We went to set up Friday afternoon a few hours before the event, and realized that the new parts we had didn't work together. A little bit of panic set in, but ya gotta remember that this is God's work. We found a janky solution of pre-recording some B-roll of the live Nativity, and then when we wanted to switch cameras we would switch the stream to the pre-recorded footage and physically plug in the desired camera. What a wild night. The live stream ended up being one of the best our mission has ever done.
We had somebody come to our ASL class on Sunday. We've been going to Balboa for a while, trying to trick people into coming to the class, but it has been largely unsuccessful with a few major outliers. We had one person come, and another person took our flier and called us. They told us they had been meaning to reach out to missionaries for a while, but never got around to it. When he saw us in the park, that was enough of a sign for him to call the missionaries back and he will be baptized soon. Even though we haven't seen the fruits of our labor, missionaries in other areas have been blessed from our efforts.
That's all the things! Have a great week. Don't worry, the church fixed the Google Photos, so the album is up to date again. I've realized I don't take many pictures, but there's a few.
