Most weeks, I'll say that the week has flown by, but this week I truly mean it. I guess the busier the week is, the faster it passes on.
We started this week off with a finding blitz in La Jolla. Some Elders that were banished to the valley got to come back to San Diego to attend the temple and zone conference, so we had an extra companionship in our area for the afternoon.
I was with Elder Deo, and we went and visited some people near the temple while Elder A and H pounded down some doors. While Elder Deo and I were visiting this one lady in the labyrinth apartment complex, we ran into the same cat that led us a few weeks ago! It was pretty meta, there's a picture in the Google Album.
My companion is pretty talented. He plays the cello pretty darn well, so this week we did a lot of practice for the two events over the weekend. One was a memorial service for flag day, and the other was a devotional. The devotional was super neat, and focused on the African immigrants living in zone 7. Their choir was super neat to hear. It's definitely not your traditional ward choir, but the spirit was just as strong. It almost makes me wish I went to Africa on my mission, but then I remember electricity and water and Walmart and programming and the people here.
And now, the crowning event of the week: Mike's baptism! Thinking back to the first time that we met with him last transfer, he's completely changed! There's just a light about him now and a hope for a better world to come. It's amazing what baptism has done for him, and his new covenants with God. I had the opportunity to confirm him a member, and wow! I was able to have a little glimpse of how our Heavenly Father views him. Best part of the mission.
I promise that God knows you guys too. Have an amazing week, and don't let the drones or hybrid demons get you. I've heard they hang around the church building.
