Welcome back to the land of San Diego where all the people panic when there's just a little rain on the freeways. This week was pretty aight, not too much to write about.
We'll address the big news first: Hurricane Hillary. It was supposed to be big and change the landscape of San Diego as we know it. But last I checked, nothing has changed except a little water here and there. I filmed a hurricane vlog because I thought it would be cool, but then it ended up pretty boring. Just videos of Elder Coxson's soggy hair and foggy glasses. I don't know if I'll end up making it. During the rainstorm, we continued our normal schedule of knocking doors, and people thought we were crazy. They thought we were for sure gonna blow away and our car would stop functioning, but the word of God doesn't stop for a little rain. What would all these people do driving to school every day in the snow?
In other news, there was zone conference this week. That was pretty hype, it's always good to see lots of missionaries. There were good talks by other missionaries and lots of inspiring discussions. We also had Stake Conference where I'm serving, and I got to interpret a lot of it. That was neat, and the spirit definitely helped with that.
One cool experience was while we were teaching a husband and wife. Since I'm the only hearing person in our companionship, I taught 95% of the lesson and interpreted the other 5%. I thought it was gonna be a train wreck since my social anxiety kicks in after 3 sentences of talking in a row, but just like D&C says:
5 Therefore, verily I say unto you, lift up your voices unto this people; speak the thoughts that I shall put into your hearts, and you shall not be confounded before men; 6 For it shall be given you in the very hour, yea, in the very moment, what ye shall say.
I have a personal testimony of this scripture. I know that I personally don't have the ability to carry an entire lesson with our friends, that can only come from and through the spirit. So that was wild, the realization of knowing that God is with me when I speak and teach. Only took a few heart attacks to get to this point.
That about sums everything up, have an absolutely amazing week and stay dry.
