Good morning America! And, I guess, those of you not in America. It's Monday in my portion of the universe, and therefore it's time to write another email about the happenings round these parts.
So this week we've been preparing for the concert this Friday. We are live streaming some music at a Christmas nativity, attempting to persuade people to come to church. On Tuesday we got together with the Mormon Battalion leadership and walked the grounds, planning where things are gonna be. Then on Thursday we planned to get the cameras and do a test stream. Unfortunately, it started raining as soon as we pulled up with the cameras, but we were still able to stretch the cords out to make sure everything reached. If you want to watch it, here's the link. This Friday at 6:30.
I got some good practice being a Dad this week, we put up Christmas lights for one of the deaf couples in our branch. Don't worry, their house is super short so we didn't even need to get on a ladder. But it was good practice for when it will be my responsibility to put up lights on my house. We also had our branch/UC ward combined Christmas party on Saturday! They forgor to get an interpreter, so when the ward leadership started announcing the program everyone looked down the table at me. I quickly ran up to the front of the table and started interpreting on the spot. Don't even worry about it, Grandma, I did my language study that morning so I bet looked fantastic.
So this week I made a super neat looking picture using AI. I was reading out of one of my favorite books, "Redeemer" from Deseret Book and got inspiration for this beauty:
I posted this on my Facebook, but never explained why I love this picture:
One of the names for Jesus is "The Good Shepherd". By that analogy we are all His sheep. Sheep are very needy and always wanting. They're master escape artists for that reason, trying to find the greener grass and the cleaner water. Does that sound familiar? Sheep are also completely helpless. For a hungry wolf, it's as easy as driving through the McDonald's drive-thru. This Christmas season, take a break from chasing the lights and the wrapping paper. Remember what Christmas is truly about, and that is our Savior. He protects us from the wolves on sin, and wraps us in his warm embrace. While you're running to and fro with your silly Santa hat, chasing the next holiday cheer, remember He who is the reason for the season, ready to pick you up in his warm embrace.

P.S. The church done goofed and I can't upload to the Google Photos album anymore. I'll put the link back when it's fixed. P.P.S. If you want that neat picture in a high resolution, or the one without the Santa hat, let me know. I made an 8k version for the hahas.
