Bam! P-day has arrived once again! Who woulda guessed that we made it another week? I cannot tell you how much I love being a missionary, this was such a great week in the Lord's vineyard!
This week the San Diego Single Adult ward invited all the missionaries to come give out food. We arrived bright and early on Saturday morning to find hundreds of cars lined up outside the church building gates, so we hurried into the parking lot and organized the big pallets of food bank food into individual bags for families. It took us about three hours to organize and hand out all the food. How grateful I am for the opportunity to see so many grateful people receive the extra boost they need
The rain thankfully stopped this week. It rained on and off until Wednesday, but now it's all done. Thank goodness, because it made a mess! Lots of potholes and standing water. God is so good, His missionaries are all safe and sound!
Yesterday we met with a guy named J over FB Messenger. He's from TJ and only knows Mexican Sign Language, which makes our video calls very interesting. Our ASL becomes more gesture based and less vocab, but we all know the universal language of the Spirit. He said our closing prayer during our first lesson, and I can tell how much he loves his Savior.
L is back on the map again! I saw him post on FB so I sent a message and we're ready to start meeting with him again. We're still working with Lance and his weird doctrinal questions.
L2 is my hero, he's the best! During our lesson last week, he was telling us about how he was trying to invite his other deaf friends to come with him to church and how he couldn't contain his excitement about the restored gospel. My testimony has grown a lot listening to his experience coming to know Jesus Christ!
This week was Stake Conference, and I had the opportunity to interpret. After the meeting, many of the members from PB came up and asked if I remembered them. Many of those members I could still tell you where they lived. Good times, and I can't believe that was about nine months ago!
Brothers and sisters, I cannot express how much I love the people of San Diego. God is mindful of all people (including you) and I am able to witness this firsthand. So many miracles that I don't remember while writing my emails, God's hand is in this great work!
Until next week!
